We support local people to improve their health and wellbeing and to build the confidence to achieve their goals and transform not only their lives but those of others in their community"
How we can help
Improving or maintaining wellbeing is at the heart of all of Wellspring’s services. As a local community-based charity, we're here to support people who may be struggling with issues such as stress, anxiety, social isolation and physical ailments. We also address the social issues such as debt and housing problems that can contribute to physical and emotional problems.
We improve the wellbeing of local people by bringing together a partnership of community health activities and services - linking together treatments, therapies and activities in a shared space in order to build a healthier community. In essence we make it easier for our community to access health and wellbeing services because they are nearer their doorstep.
If you feel you need advice, help or assistance with emotional or physical wellbeing then please take a look at our full range of services. Feel free to get in touch by telephone or email for a no-obligation, confidential chat.
Our services are either free or low-cost.
What’s on at Wellspring
We have a wide range of activities at Wellspring to get involved in - from gentle exercise, therapeutic art sessions and mucking in at our community garden - all the way through to Kung-Fu . There are lots of events and classes to choose from.
Facilities for hire
We have a number of rooms of varying sizes available for hire in our beautiful purpose built centre. The building is wheelchair accessible, has undergone a disability access audit and has easy access by foot, bike, bus, train (via Lawrence Hill Station) and car. We have bike racks available for those who like to use pedal-power to get around Bristol.
With free WiFi, as well as equipment such as laptops and projectors to hire, refreshment making facilities, flipcharts and pens - we can provide everything you need to make your event or meeting a success.

Research and reports
Clear, uncomplicated and yet comprehensive reports form the backbone of our work. Without the research beforehand, we would not be in a position to provide the best level of service, support and advice. Without in-depth impact reports borne out of our work, we cannot shift attitude; change perceptions; adapt to the changing needs of our community; and identify areas where we can be most effective in supporting local people in improving their health and wellbeing.
Browse our collection of research reports covering topics such as economic insecurity and health inequality; social isolation and the work and health of Polish and Somali migrants in Bristol; and the return of investment in social prescribing.
You can make a difference
Wellspring supports local people to improve their health and wellbeing; building their confidence to aspire and achieve goals that can transform their lives.
Our achievements to date are forged on our strong relationships with our partners and the support of our funders and community. We gratefully accept financial donations of all sizes and always welcome offers of support.
We regularly look for members of our community to take an active part in what we are doing - whether that is helping with events, providing input on services or becoming a trustee of our organisation.
